Natalia Goncharova exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence

The Natalia Goncharova exhibition – A Woman of the Avant-garde, from Gauguin to Matisse and Picasso takes place at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence from 28 September 2019 to 12 January 2020. The event celebrates an extraordinary female figure of the 20th century art in comparison with masterpieces of famous artists like Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and Umberto Boccioni. Thanks to this exhibition that will host works from the most important international museums, it will be possible to trace the life of the Russian artist against the current and the multifaceted production.

The 130 artworks on display will take us on a journey through the Russian countryside, Moscow and Paris to discover the non-conformist biography of a woman who knew how to live for art, creating an original fusion of tradition and innovation, East and West, and making her own work a unique example of experimentation with artistic genres and styles ranging from New-Primitivism to Rayonisme, painting and graphic art to her work for the theatre.
