Unstable territory borders and identity in contemporary art
Unstable territory. Borders and identity in contemporary art
Unstable territory. Borders and identity in contemporary art is the name of the exhibition that will be presented next October 10 at the Strozzina and it will remain on the bill until January 19, 2014.
More than three months to get closer to an interesting event and full of ideas for dialogue, important for the era in which we live.
In fact, the basic idea of "Unstable territory", hosted at the center of contemporary culture at the Palazzo Strozzi, it is to dissect and understand the instability that today defines the relationship between identity, territories and borders.
A kind of fracture that comes from a different perception of belonging, limits and boundaries, daughter of the extraordinary mobility of people and goods, digitization of media and knowledge, migration flows and economic processes increasingly global.
Historic changes that we will be able to analyze through art, photographs, videos and installations by artists such as Kader Attia, Zanny Begg & Oliver Ressler, Adam Broomberg & O. Chanarin, Paolo Cirio, The Cool Couple, Tadashi Kawamata, Sigalit Landau, Richard Mosse, Paulo Nazareth, Jo Ractliffe.
Unstable territory is open from Tuesday to Sunday (10:00-20:00) and on Thursday (10:00 to 23:00).
